Daimler Truck Southern Africa supports the efforts of the Competition Commission with what they aim to achieve with the Automotive Aftermarket Guideline, with the clear intention to promote inclusion and to encourage competition through greater participation of small businesses as well as historically disadvantaged groups. The definition of Independent Service Providers” or “ISP” are dealers and/or motor-body repairers, who are not appointed as approved dealer or approved motor-body repairers.

Please note that access will be granted upon successful registration of applicant. The registration process can take up to 7 working days. There is a cost implication to register and access training and technical information. Registration is valid for 1 year and subject to renewal annually.

How long does the accreditation process and adjudication take?
In general, this process 6 to 8 weeks.

For how long is the ABRC accreditation valid for?
DTSA ABRC accreditation is valid for a period of 12 months.

What is the first step in dealing with DTSA as an ISP?
Fill in all your required details on the ISP application form found on the MB Trucks and FUSO Trucks websites. Once your details have been verified, you can then send your specific request to ISPCommunication_DTBSA@daimlertruck.com

Yes, technical training is offered to ISP's. Minimum requirements apply.

What are the minimum requirements to attend technical training?
Chassis and drivetrain topics: A merSETA recognized qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, including a minimum of 3 yrs working experience in the particular trade.
Electrical topics: A merSETA recognized qualification as a Diesel Mechanic and/or Auto Electrician, including a minimum of 3 yrs working experience in the particular trade.

Technical training is offered for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, FUSO Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Buses.

Is technical training face to face or is it online training?
Depending on the training requested, some elements of the training will be online and some face to face. However, the majority of the technical training is face to face.

Is there a fee charged for technical training?
Yes, there is a daily training fee charged for all technical training. The total amount and fee per day will depend on the training requested.

Can I fit Non-Original spare parts in my vehicle under warranty?
Yes, Consumers can fit Original or Non-Original Spare Parts, at a service provider of their choice, whether an Approved Dealer, Approved Motor-body Repairer, or an ISP, during the In-Warranty period.

Can my warranty be voided for fitting Non-Original Spare parts or for using an Independent Service Provider?
If there is any damage caused as result of fitting Non-Original Spare parts or from the fitment of Spare Parts by an ISP, certain provision in the warranty can be voided. However, other provisions of the warranty may remain severable and enforceable. However before warranty is voided, the we will conduct an assessment to determine the cause of the damage.

Will all Original Spare be available to ISPs where required to perform service, maintenance or repair work?
Majority of our Original Spares are available to purchase through our approved dealers, for ISPs to purchase where required to perform service, maintenance or repair work. Only Original Spare parts linked to the vehicle's security system will not be available

Will Non -Original Spare Parts be available from the approved dealers?
There is no obligation on approved dealers to supply Non-Original Spare Parts.
